March for Equality

(Translated from this article which is in Spanish)

It is this simple: We al deserve the same rights

Discrimination is something that has been in our society for a long time: races, genders ... and little by little we have been learning and evolving. Gone are the days when black people had to use different buses than white people or when there were norms that excluded women from voting (and many other things).

Today is different. Women vote, race segregation is crazy and those thoughts are a thing of the past. These days, it would seem absurd (and even offensive) for someone to think or suggest situations like the ones that happened back then. Of course, there is still a bit of it, but most people can say that it is wrong. But this does not happen with discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Unfortunately, homosexual people have been discriminated against, diminished and excluded for a long time. Today we can make a difference and try to ensure that everyone enjoys the same legal rights. That is why I SUPPORT and PROMOTE that everyone go to the MARCH FOR EQUALITY organized by Unión Civil Ya. Let's prove that we can be a more inclusive country and that we all deserve to have the freedom to love and live without being discriminated against.
Says: "The peruvian state should declare clearly and officially that it will not tolerate any kind of social stigma of homosexuality, bisexuality or transexuality.

Is this the country I want for my children? Do I want my kids/nephews to have fear to grow in a country that does not accept any sexual orientation? Do I want my kids, if gay, to not be able to get married to the person they love? Do I want my country to discriminate? Do I think that because I am heterosexual, I deserve more rights than the people who are not? Come one... it is time to change.
